Wheeler Winston Dixon is a very highly respected and well known film director in the world of media. Dixon has said that men and women in horror films are sights of activity. This means that the characters in horror films are only there to be killed in situations and therefore we don't really relate to these characters (they are not so much characters and are more there to showcase death).
